Famor Botero
Director, Writer and Producer
Famor Botero is a Colombian filmmaker known for his impact on the Latin American community. He began his career as an actor in Chicano theater in California before transitioning to directing. With a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Television from Full Sail University, he has dedicated his work to telling stories of struggle and perseverance.
His projects address urgent social issues such as machismo, marginalization, and human rights. From his documentary Take Me Home, which sheds light on the homelessness crisis in Orlando, to Sofía, a reflection on women’s empowerment in Colombia, his focus has always been on amplifying the voices of the forgotten.
He has directed and co-written original series for Discovery Network, including Antártica, a Spanish-language production that transcended cultural barriers by premiering first on English-language networks. His latest film, Gritos en Silencio, shot in Mexico, denounces the crisis of femicides in Latin America.
With a deep commitment to social impact, Botero continues to explore powerful real-life stories through cinema, merging art and activism to inspire change.

Jaime Escallon Buraglia is a distinguished Writer, recognized for his extensive work across five continents and proficiency in nine languages. His impressive repertoire spans seven feature films, a dozen scripted series, and over one hundred documentaries, including the acclaimed Emmy Award-winning production, “The Cancer Dancer.” Hailing from Toronto, Canada, and nurtured in Bogota, Colombia, Jaime’s background lends a distinct and diverse perspective to his artistic endeavors.
He graduated from the Film School at the National University of Colombia and completed his MA in Drama at the University of Toronto. In 2005, Jaime established Lulo Films in Toronto, crafting content tailored for a multitude of global markets.
